One my favorite seasonal desserts is @DreenaBurton 's Sweet Potato Chocolate Cake. There is sweet potato in both the cake and the frosting! The recipe is already oil-free and whole grain, the only modification I made was to substitute date sugar for the coconut sugar and soaked dates for the maple syrup. I really liked the way it came out, it was just slightly less sweet than the original but oh so decadent tasting.
