High animal protein intake associated with higher, plant protein with lower mortality rate: Increased death risk primarily associated with red meats, eggs and dairy -- not found among those with healthy lifestyle


The findings in this study are significant because they explain the gap between the mortality rates of ovo-lacto vegetarians and vegans. For cancer specifically, it turns out that consumption of eggs increases the risk factor for cancer MORE than processed meats. Moving away from a meat centered diet towards a vegetarian diet can be a positive step, but it's important that everyone receives this information so that we can make conscious choices based on the best available evidence, for our health, the health of the planet, and the animals. #nutritionfacts #nutritionstudies #Satya
